Victoria Park Library
27 Sussex Street, East Victoria Park, 6101
it’s time to polish it!
Bring along a printed extract or sample chapter from your writing to proofread during the party.
Author, publisher, and former professional freelance editor, Rebecca Laffar-Smith, will give a short presentation explaining types of editing and how proofreading differs from structural editing, industry standard proofreading marks, common mistakes and words to watch, how to create your own style guide, as well as tips and advice for self-editing and proofreading.
You will be given a practice exercise and then ‘let loose’ to proofread your own writing. Rebecca and former professional proofreader, Britt Ingerson, will be on-hand to answer any questions you have about the editing process or any queries you have with regard to editing decisions in your own work.
Refreshments will be provided; socialising and having fun is encouraged.
Call Victoria Park Library on (08) 9373 5500 or book online to reserve your place.
