Due to a lack of participation, this event has been cancelled this year. Please share your feedback about how we could make TGIO something you would be interested in attending in 2016.
It’s a celebration!
Celebrate the end of Write Along The Highway’s Writers Festival with a fabulous fun day for the whole family! Not just for writers, our BBQ Lunch invites you to share the fun, food, and fantastic company with your whole family, young or old. This is one event where children, spouses, siblings, and parents/grandparents are welcome to come along too. I’m sure there will be some who are thrilled to get you back from your writing cave, at last! 😉
We’ll have some goodies to give away, some tasty treats to share, and lots of fun chatting and hanging out!
Celebrate having written something, having enjoyed the author talks, or having hung out with some great people online or in person. This meet and greet opportunity is all about chatting, kicking back, relaxing, having some tasty food, playing in the park and playground and heading down to the beach for a swim if desired. Network with other writers, meet in person friends you’ve made on the forum, have a final hurrah with the people you’ve met at author talks, workshops, and write ins.
This event invites participants to bring a plate or drinks to share or extra BBQ goodies for you and your own family. We’ll be doing a sausage sizzle and some snacks but the more the merrier so we’ll always welcome contribution to the noms.
You’re also invited to bring along some of your writing to read and share; and bring your anecdotes and stories about your experiences during the festival. How did your writing go? Did you implement the Traveling Shovel of Death? Did you bring the ketchup for your dragon battles? Did you invite some interesting deaths on your favourite minions? Chat about it and share what you loved and loathed about November’s writing marathon and the progress you’ve made with your writing in the past three months.
Finally, this is last chance to turn in your brochure in person for a chance to win great prizes. For anyone who hasn’t had a chance to turn in your brochure I’ll send out a postal address in our newsletter after TGIO so that you can post it in before January 1st but save yourself the postage and enjoy a great day out with some wonderful people.
